5:00pm-10:00pm
Speke Resort Munyonyo
Kampala, Uganda
Recommended Attire: Cocktail
*IMPORTANT NOTE: In case you missed our email update, the Athens reception has been canceled to allow us to focus on the Uganda wedding. We hope you can join us!
Flights to Uganda will land in Entebbe (EBB airport). We expect flight costs to be between $1,200-$1,500 and encourage our guests to book 4-6 months in advance to get the best price.
Flights through Delta typically have 2-3 layovers* while Qatar airways and Emirates often only have one. However, Delta flights usually have a shorter flight time. We advise looking for flights with a 21-24 hour flight time.
*Note: Delta lists Kigali as a layover; however, you will not deplane at this stop. The plane lands to pick up and drop off passengers, but those headed to Entebbe (EBB) remain on the flight.
In order to gain entry into Uganda, you will need to apply for a Ugandan visa up to 6 months prior to travel. For those who confirm attendance, we will send you the documentation needed to apply. The approval process typically does not take more than 10 days, but we advise submitting your request at least one month in advance.
Application website:

In addition to a Ugandan visa, you will need:
- A valid passport (with at least 6 months until expiration)
- 1 blank passport page for entry stamp
- Yellow Fever Vaccine*
*The Yellow Fever Vaccine is typically not covered by insurance because it is considered a "travel vaccine." The cost can range from $150-$250, but most are considered a lifetime vaccine.

Guests are strongly encouraged to take Malaria medication prior to traveling. You will need to start this medication several days before travel, as well as continue the medication for the duration of your trip and some time after you return (time varies depending on prescription).
Anti-malarial medications can be costly in the US, so if you would like, you have the option of getting the required amount of pre-travel pills in the US and then purchasing the remainder of the prescription once in Uganda.
For details on Malaria different medications, see the resource below. However, please consult a physician to see what's best for you:

While Malaria medication is important, Uganda does not actually have many mosquitos! Your accommodation will make sure to provide you with mosquito nets at night, but you can take comfort knowing that Uganda does not have nearly as many mosquitoes as the South East, and they are not out during the daytime.
Additionally, the Ugandan cuisine is delicious and all cooked food is safe to eat!
The wedding will be held at Speke Resort Munyonyo in Kampala, which overlooks Lake Victoria. This resort is not far from the airport, and we will arrange transportation for guests from the airport to the resort.
The resort will offer a discounted rate the weekend of the wedding, which will be between $120-$150 per room per night; however, if you'd prefer to explore Airbnbs, we can help you find nearby ones as well.
For those looking to stay in Uganda beyond the wedding weekend, we are also arranging a safari excursion!
We’re hoping to make this wedding an enjoyable one for everyone. We recognize that attending the Uganda wedding is a big trip, and we want to ensure you have all the information you need to make an informed decision.
